Why have regular check-ups?
Many of us put off going to see our dentist until we have a problem. If we feel fine, why take the time? Because it will save you both time and money! Regular check-ups let us focus on helping you maintain good oral health, rather than treating problems. Check-ups are much less expensive in the long run than paying for costly, time-consuming treatment. Also, check-ups give us the opportunity to detect early warning signs and treat them before they turn into major problems (e.g. impacted teeth, cysts).
We recommend you see your dentist for a check-up every six months.

What will my check-up consist of?
We will:
- Review your records and past x-rays, and update your medical history.
- Examine your mouth, checking teeth, gums, tongue, cheeks and palate.
- Take new x-rays if necessary.
- Remove plaque and tartar and apply a fluoride treatment.
- Fill minor cavities.
- Assess your health and home care practices.
- Counsel you on oral hygiene, home care and nutrition.
